Krystyna Pronko - 1980

Krystyna Pronko, vocaliste polonaise exceptionnelle, a probablement pâti de son ouverture musicale mainstream qui l'a menée de la pop à la variété locale. Du coup les noms qui restent dans les anthologies et articles internet (en français) sur le jazz polonais sont ceux de Krzysztof Komeda, Michal Urbaniak et Ursula Dudziak. C'est un tort d'avoir négligé la gironde Krystyna, sa voix sensuelle, tour à tour souple et agressive, qui fait des merveilles sur Oto Przyczyna, un morceau quasi expérimental assez éloquent sur l'étendue de son spectre créatif. Le son est comme le titre de l'album l'indique : marqué fusion eighties ; mais il y a un côté accrocheur dans des morceaux tels que Jutro zaczyna sie, tu sezon, joli hit jazz rock, ou Wielka zima, revisitation d'une ballade romantique, tous deux entendus ailleurs, mais où ?

Krystyna Pronko is an exceptional Polish vocalist, singing pop and jazz music. The start of her career goes back to Gorzow, where she made her debut with the group ‘Refleks’. She graduated as a laureate from the Music Academy in Katowice, at the Jazz and pop music department. Her songs have always been on top of charts on Polish Radio 1 and Radio 3. She gave concerts at many festivals both in Poland and abroad, e.g Jazz Jamboree, MFP in Opole and Sopot. In 1980 she was awarded a Vocalist of the Year. She has a very characteristic voice, she’s very flexible and can move the audience easily even now, whether it is her jazz concert or a pop one.
